Lake Powell 2008

We just got back on Saturday from Lake Powell. It was Noah's second time and Ava's first time. The ride down there was pretty good, we left at 5 am on Wed. and it took about 6 1/2 hours to get there. About 5 hours into the drive Ava was done being in her car seat, so she fussed and squirmed the remaining hour and a half. Thank goodness for the travel DVD player. We played Elmo over and over again for the last few hours.

Our camp site this year wasen't great, we had to walk down a really steep hill to even get to the shore. Usually we just camp right in front of the water, but because of the water level rising it was just too sandy to get to where we normally camp. The water was pretty cold too, but all in all it was a good trip.

We stayed in a hotel in page AZ just so we had somewhere to come back to with air conditioning after a 104 degree day. We lathered the kids up about every hour with sunscreen so by the time we got to the hotel they had to have baths right away.

Noah enjoyed the tube this year. He got to go on a few times with me and Jeff and then also with his La La (jasa). Jeff did some wakeboarding and skiing. He is getting really good at jumping the wake. He had a really hard landing and tweeked his ankle, we thought it might be broken, it swelled up really big, but he iced and elevated it, and after 2 days if felt pretty good.
